Kenneth Tibbits, age 82, of New London, MO passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

Funeral and Masonic Services will be Friday August 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Grand View Funeral Home, Mitch Tibbits will officiate. Burial with full military honors provided by Palmyra American Legion Post #174 will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

A Visitation celebrating Kenneth's life will be on Friday August 4, 2023 at 10:00 am until time of service at the Grand View Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born on April 9, 1941, in Hannibal, MO, the son of Orville and Mary (Dickson) Tibbits. They precede him in death.

He is survived by his Son, Carl Tibbits (Diana) of Alton, IL; Daughter, Kenna Tibbits (Ed Inlow) of Louisiana, MO; Brother, Mike Tibbits of FL; Four Grandsons, Justin  Tibbits, Jamie Tibbits (Krissy), Jared Tibbits, Dustin Tibbits; Two Granddaughters, Heather Riley, Shyann Stanbridge.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his longtime companion Linda Evans.

Kenneth graduated from Quincy and went on to serve his country in the Army. He went on to a distinguished career as a quarry foreman for Continental Cement.

Kenneth was a member of the St Johns #28 AF & AM Masonic Lodge in Hannibal, MO,. He was also a member of the NEMO Shrine Club, and the Scottish Rite, and the Quincy Rock & Mineral Club.

Kenneth was involved in just about everything that one could be involved in. He was a consummate collector of rocks and minerals and his passion was fossils. He donated over 3,000 fossils to the Des Moines County Heritage Museum, in Burlington, IA. He loved to read and watch Western's, and cooking with his air fryer like a true chef, even writing his own recipes. Kenneth was an amazing artist. He drawings and paintings of real life scenes would capture your imagination. He traveled all around the globe, having been in all 50 States, and many countries. He went through pounds of sugar lovingly feeding his hummingbirds. And he was very involved in the Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite. There wasn't a person that Kenneth wouldn't help. He was compassionate and caring, and if someone is in need, he was there to meet that need to the best of his ability. He was deeply loved all that new him and will be missed.
