Audry R. Thompson, "AR", 75, of New London, MO, died at 3:45 p.m. on December 28, 2017, at Columbia University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Funeral services will be January 5, 2018 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bill Dexheimer officiating.
Audry was born on Friday, July 10, 1942, in Mediapolis, IA, the son of Averill and Matilda Lobert Thompson. He married Sharon Toom on July 29, 1961, and she survives.
His parents; one son, Mark; four brothers, Robert, Ted, Kenny and Tom; and a sister, Rose Ann Rasikas, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin (Susan) Thompson and Sam (Allison) Wejuli; three sisters, Dorothea Rugland, Carol Jean Cade and Pat Perry; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Thompson and Linda Thompson; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He graduated from Bettendorf High School in Iowa, and continued his education at Davenport College before moving to Hannibal. Audry was a machinist at Alcoa for 17 years. Audry was a member of the Living Water Community Church, and served as a Deacon and board member. He was a veteran of the US Marines and a member of the American Legion Post 55. Audry served as a past president of the FAC Country Kitchen Restaurants and Quad City Bass Fishing Club. He was a member of White Tails Unlimited and Moose Club Davenport. He owned and operated the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Hannibal for many years.
He loved to help those in need, challenging other businesses in the community to give to the Salvation Army Bucket Blitz. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
