Bonnie was born on November 19, 1926, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Harry E. and Maud Mae Shannon Riley. She married Virgil A. Brinker on August 6, 1946, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1989.
The Brinkers lived on a farm south of New London for 36 years. Bonnie worked at Haydon Hardware Store for many years, retiring in 1991. She liked her volunteer work at Douglas Community Center and Willow Care Center, playing bingo and going to the Hannibal Nutrition Center. She was a member of Hydesburg United Methodist Church.
Bonnie was an on-the-go type of person. She enjoyed her many friendships, especially with "the girls" she hosted for Friday Night Game Nights. Many Friday evenings were spent around the kitchen table playing games, laughing and snacking.
She is survived by one son, Gary (Barbara) Brinker of New London, MO; one daughter, Jeanne (Dr. Duane) Thomas of Hannibal, MO; four grandchildren, Justin (Lori) Brinker of Overland Park, KS, Jill Thomas (Adam Parker, husband) of San Francisco, CA, Scott Thomas (Daniela Fillipone, fiancee), and Jenny Thomas both of New York City, NY.
Bonnie was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Riley and Harry L. Riley; and two sisters, Mary Holt and Shirley Stevens.
