Emily Ann Walden, age 84, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 5:15 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grand View Burial Park
Visitation celebrating Emily's life will be held 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Emily was born on April 5, 1940, in DeRidder, LA the daughter of Arnold and Annie (Brown) Schoeneman.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Walden. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1996.
Survivors include her children, Jeff Walden (Stephanie) of New London, MO, Brad Walden (Erika) of Hannibal, MO and Chad Walden (Debbie) of Rensselaer, MO; daughter-in-law, Lynn Marie Walden of Quincy, IL; sister, Faye Snodgrass of Center, MO; grandchildren, Lacy (Giffin), Lexy (Cameron), Damon (Kelsey), Heather (Jake), Jessica (Jimmie), Montanna (Kristian), Isaac (Addison), Alaina, Riley, Dawson (Landry) and Macy (Gavin); several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by a son, Larry Walden; brothers, Wayne Schoeneman and Bobby "Bimbo" Schoeneman; and sister, Marlene Marshall.
Emily supported her husband for many years with the running of Hannibal Paint and Body. She was also a homemaker all of her life, helping raise her four sons and always made sure her home was filled with love and comfort food. Cooking for her family was a daily routine of Emily's, she was well known for her southern dishes, especially her fried chicken. When time allowed, Mrs. Walden could be found on a river or pond bank fishing. She always had the best of luck catching the biggest and most out of the group. Sewing, reading and collecting Pyrex Cooking Ware were some of the hobbies Emily enjoyed. Emily's biggest love was her family, she cherished every moment spent with them especially her grand and great grand babies.
Emily was a Baptist by faith.
Pallbearers will be Brad Walden, Chad Walden, Jeff Walden, Riley Walden, Dawson Walden and Isaac Walden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice, in care of the Grand View Funeral Home.
