Jane Carolyn Robinson

July 26, 1931 — January 1, 2025

Hannibal

Jane Carolyn Robinson was born on July 26, 1931, in West Ely, Missouri. At 93 years of age, she was called by her Lord to be with Him on January 1, 2025. She passed away in her home with her daughter by her side.

Carolyn was born to Leonard and Clara (Hagaman) Boyer in Palmyra, Missouri. She grew up on the family farm in West Ely, near Huntington, Missouri. The family eventually moved to Palmyra and opened the Palmyra Chicken Hatchery on East Main Cross. Carolyn attended the Palmyra school system and Hannibal LaGrange University.

Carolyn was the devoted mother to Terry Robinson, of Hannibal, MO and Ed Robinson (Debbie) of Frisco, TX; cherished grandmother to Felicia Geary of Alexandria, VA and Will Robinson of Frisco, TX; beloved great-grandmother to Sydney Geary and Gavin Geary of Alexandria, VA. Carolyn is also survived by her brother Harold Boyer (Verna) of Severance, Colorado and sister- in- law, Mary Weekly of Moorehead, MN. Carolyn had many loving nieces and nephews.

Carolyn’s late husband of almost 60 years, Jim Robinson, preceded her in death on October 26, 2012. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Leslie Boyer (surviving wife Elaine) of San Marcus, TX, Glenn Boyer (Twila) of Palmyra, MO, and sister Marjorie Frye (Danny) of Oakland CA.

Carolyn retired from Hannibal National Bank. She poured her heart into church activities alongside her husband, Jim. Carolyn devoted much of her time through her musical talent by playing the piano during church services for 50 years at South Side Christian Church and later at Clover Road Christian Church where she was a longtime member. Her family can attest to the many hours of playing the piano at home.

Carolyn was a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers. She and Jim attended many Mizzou football games. She loved African violets and raised them in house for many years.

Carolyn’s gentle demeaner and smile touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, warmth, and dedication and love for her family and friends. She was the kindest woman and her empathy for others was undeniable. She will truly be missed my many and will live on in our hearts and precious memories.
