Juanita Gates

Juanita Gates, 89 of Crestwood, MO, originally from Bowling Green, MO, departed on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Woodlands of Arnold. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Grand View Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held Friday October 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Grand View Burial Park.

The daughter of the late Lilbert H. Ard “Prince” and Jessie L. (Kuntz) Ard. Mrs. Gates was a homemaker and beloved mother to her late son Harold Norman Gates and late daughter Cynthia Marie Gates and a loving wife to her late husband Buford N. Gates.

She had a passion for bird watching and loved to talk about her favorite chipmunk “Fast Freddie” She enjoyed fishing, traveling south, horse races, reading her bible and a good game of bingo. She had many friends and family that adored and cherished her companionship. She was a woman of quick wit that blended seamlessly with a gentle soul. Juanita “Little Mama” Gates’ daily phone calls with family and friends and storytelling will be greatly missed. Her zest for creating memories and enjoying new experiences, even in her golden years, set her apart from many who have reached an advanced age.

Mrs. Gates is survived by loving sisters Claudine Phillips, and Betty Minor. Dear brother Harold
Ard. Dear niece June Porter, as well as countless additional nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Mrs. Gates’ strong will, strength and endless love will continue to be treasured by all.
