Nina Nelle Jenks

Nina Nelle Jenks, age 83, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:21 am Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at her nephew’s home in Jefferson City, MO. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Olivet Cemetery in Center, MO. Bro. Jeff Anderson will officiate.

The family is being served by the Grand View Funeral Home of Hannibal.

Nina was born on July 26, 1941, in rural Center, MO on the family farm. She was the daughter of Robert William and Dorothy Nelle (Swan) Jenks.

Survivors include nephews, William Jenks (Lessie) and James Jenks (Christina) both of Jefferson City, MO; sister-in-law Mary Jenks of Fairdealing, MO; great nieces and nephews, Aaron Jenks, Melissa Jenks (Zachary Burkemper), Jackson Jenks (Phoenix), and Ashely Huskey.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by a brother, Perry William Jenks and great niece, Victoria Ashley Jenks.

Ms. Jenks had a love for children and showed her love as an educator. Nina taught for thirty-nine plus years in the Van-Far School District. Her passion was to see every child grow and achieve their dreams.

Away from teaching, Nina enjoyed collecting coins, gardening, as well as feeding and watching the birds around her home.

Nina was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Olivet Cemetery, in care of the Grand View Funeral Home.
