Rose Mary Ulry

April 30, 1947 — July 23, 2024

Rose Mary Ulry, age 77, of Hannibal, MO, peacefully passed away at 7:50 pm on Tuesday, July
23, 2024, at her home.

A memorial service to honor Rose’s life will be held 12 o'clock noon Saturday, August 24th at
Clover Road Christian Church. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
Cremation arrangements are being managed by Grand View Funeral Home.

Born on April 30, 1947, in Hannibal, MO, Rose was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Ester
(Hohimer) White. She was united in marriage to Joe Tyrel Ulry on May 8, 1973, in Hannibal,
MO, who survives her.

Rose is also survived by her children: Robert Horstmeyer, James Nelson, and Jolene Messina
(Tony), all of Hannibal, MO; her brothers: Kenny White (Brenda) of Hannibal, MO and Tony
White (Debbie) of New London, MO; her sisters: Elizabeth Ann Tuggle of Monroe City, MO and
Meta Gunn (Larry) of Hannibal, MO; as well as her grandchildren: Jeff, Jason, April, Nathan,
Jaelyn, Anthony, Zac, Riley, Cody, Derek, Christina, Scotty, Nicole, and Sarah; and numerous
great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Tina Horstmeyer, and a brother, James
White.

Rose graduated from Hannibal High School in the class of 1965. She enjoyed a fulfilling
work-life at a variety of organizations eventually retiring from Swiss Colony as an Account
Representative.

Family meant the world to Rose. She delighted in baking cookies with her grandchildren,
especially lemon and sugar Christmas cookies. Rose was known for her warm and welcoming
nature, she never met a stranger and always enjoyed good conversation.  Walks at Sodalis and
Riverview Park with her sidekick "Ruffles" by her side was something Rose truly enjoyed. Her genuine interest
in others and friendly demeanor made her a cherished friend and confidante to many. For many
years she enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. A lifelong fan of Elvis, Rose also spent her
retirement years indulging in diamond art, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and traveling with her
husband across the U.S., with Biloxi, MS, being one of her favorite destinations.

Rose was a devoted member of Clover Road Christian Church.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Clover Road Christian Church, in care of
Grand View Funeral Home.
